I am most thankful for the students I teach and the parents that give me so much support at school and at home. I am truly blessed each and every day! Thank you!

Class News

v      Today in Thursday Folders, your students received Scholastic book orders for the months of November/December. Remember, you can order online at http://teacher.scholastic.com/clubs/ click on “for parents.” Our class username is vaughan4 and our password is read. Of course, like always, you can still send in the order at school if you do not want to order online. Just remember, books make great Christmas presents! J

v      Our 4^th grade musical is going to be Tuesday, December 2^nd. Please make sure that your purple permission slip is returned. Without it, you can’t be in the musical! Students should arrive at 6:00pm. The performance begins at 6:30.

v      One quick side note-we have been working so hard in here that we are already almost out of notebook paper! If you are willing or able, please send 1-2 packs of wide ruled notebook paper to school with your child. I collect them all and pass them out when we need it so that students’ desks don’t get too clogged. I really do appreciate all of my wonderful parents who are so faithful to help out our class! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Just a Reminder:

v     Every Friday is school spirit day! Wear your spirit wear on Fridays! Spirit wear can be ordered from PTA.

v     I send home failing test grades to be corrected. Please review these tests with your students and sign that you have seen the test. I only allow one night to make up these tests. It is very important that the tests come back corrected the next day.

v     You can find a complete list of AR books on the school website if your child is at home and would like to know if a book qualifies for AR.

Behavior Hint for the Week:

Remember to stay on track. I know the holidays are getting closer, but we still have a lot to do before winter break! Keep those cards on green!!!!

Class News

 

v      Picture make-up day is Tuesday, November 18^th. Also, if you have misplaced your yearbook order form and would like another one, please let me know so I can get that to you ASAP.

 

v      Our 4^th grade musical is going to be Tuesday, December 2^nd. Please make sure that your purple permission slip is returned. Without it, you can’t be in the musical! Students should arrive at 6:00pm.

 

v      Information from our room mom (Mrs. Swancy) is in Thursday Folders today! Please take the time to read what she has written. (hot pink sheet)

 

v      The fourth grade Thanksgiving Feast will take place on Thursday, November 20^th. If you would like to join your child for lunch, the cost is $2.50. PTA will be selling “tickets” ahead of time. This is to cut down on back-ups in the lunchroom. If your child normally brings their lunch, but would like to eat Thanksgiving Feast, please remind them to send their money in the morning before school starts. We are trying to make this as hassle-free as possible! If you have any questions, let me know.

 

v      Academic Alerts go home Tuesday, November 18^th. Every student gets one and needs to have it signed and returned.  ***Please note that since we have been doing science/social studies in a “block schedule” this 9 weeks, the social studies category is only one grade. This grade will change before the report cards come out.

v      Thank you so much to all of you who have donated canned goods! We are in first place for fourth grade! The canned food drive ends November 5^th. Lets keep our first place status!!!!

v      In today’s Thursday Folder, you will find your child’s pictures. I will let you know when make-up day is.

v      Please return the 4^th grade musical permission slip if you have not already done so. (It is purple.) Auditions for various parts will begin shortly, and without permission to attend, students cannot try out.
