During the month of April we will not have formal weekly spelling tests. I have a website that I would encourage you to visit with your child and add in vocabulary words or words from our stories. It is www.spelling city.com. This will give us more class time for CRCT review.
Dates to remember:
-April 1 our 3rd and 4th graders will be going on a Performing Arts trip
-April 2 our 5th graders and Mrs. Sommer will be going to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. We will leave at 7:15 and return at 5:15.
- April 7-11 is SPRING BREAK!!!!! Enjoy this time off with your child.
- CRCT testing will be April 23, 24, 25, 28, and 29th.

We are looking forward to our trip on Tuesday, Feb. 26 to taste all kinds of wonderful goodies at the Cobb Civic Center. All permission slips are in and there is no cost to students.
Friday is the deadline for 5th grade permission slips for their trip in April.
Spelling this week will be the ort family words.
Only 60 more days of school, but we are getting very low on some supplies. Donations of waterless hand soap, glue sticks, and sandwich size baggies would be very much appreciated.
Please remember to read every night with your child and sign their notebook.

Happy New year to all! Hope you enjoyed the time off with your child.
There will not be any tutoring until February and this will be with a new group of students.
Report cards will not be sent home on January 11. Instead, cards will be given to parents at their conference. If you do not attend the card will be sent home on January 29.
This month we will be learning about Frog Year, Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, and Farm life.

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Mrs. Brimmage will be leaving us on December 7th. She will be starting a new job at Georgia Power which is a very good opportunity for her. She has been wonderful and will be truly missed. Ms. Teresa Jones will start on Dec. 11th.
We have been given the opportunity to go on a field trip on Monday, December 17, 2007. All will get to bowl and have a special McDonald's lunch. Total cost is $10.00. I'm concerned since this is coming so close to the holiday "shopping" season. I will need the money by Thursday, Dec. 13. Please do not hesitate to inform me if this is a problem for you.
I know how busy this time of year is , so the students will not be having as much homework. Therefor, please spend the extra time on their life timelines which are due Dec. 14.
Our holiday party will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Mrs. Sommer will be out on the 21st.
There will be no spelling the last week of school.

Our class has enjoyed monitoring Africam.com. The animals that we got to see were: antelopes, wildebeest, rhinoceroses, a wild boar, little monkeys, ground horn bills (they look like turkey vultures) and our favorite, a herd of elephants!
