Chattahoochee Nature Center

We had a great time at the Chattahoochee Nature Center!  I would like to say a very special thank you to Rachel's grandmother, and Joey's grandmother who were able to come with us.  I really appreciate the extra help that you both provided.  Thanks again!

While on our field trip, the students learned more about the different Georgia regions and what animals live in each region.  The students also got the opportunity to see some of these animals as we hiked throughout the Nature Center.Classroom_069 Classroom_072 Classroom_079

Math Curse

Classroom_058 We had a lot of fun with our Math Curse day last Wednesday.  The students were put under a "math curse" as they entered the room and were told they had to think about math all day long.  The students completed a story titled "My Teacher Put A Math Curse On Me".  They also used a math journal to write down anything mathematical they found throughout the day.  The students ended the day with a group activity where they worked together to complete a cut and paste "Math in our World" collage.Classroom_052 Classroom_054 Classroom_055 Classroom_056 Classroom_059

Traditional Literature

This past week, the students worked very hard to create their own traditional literature story.  They got to choose which type of story they would write and were able to begin publishing on the laptops.  They loved this!  We can't wait to finish our stories this week!
