In Math this week, we have been learning about perimeter (the measurement around a figure). Students used geoboards and grids to practice finding these measurements.
We wrote persuasive letters to Punxsutawney Phil this week in writing. First, students decided if they wanted six more weeks of winter, or if they are ready for spring to arrive. Then, students wrote a letter to the groundhog trying to convince him to see his shadow or not.
We had a Guidance lesson this week on the causes of stress and what to do (that is safe, fair and effective) when we are feeling stressed.
On Wednesday, a group called Havana Son came and played Latin-American music which the students enjoyed listening to and dancing to.
We are having a Media Center lesson today. We will continue our research on important American people. We will then go to the Computer Lab tomorrow to continue working on our timelines of these famous people’s lives.
