We have had a FANTASTIC start to the 2008-2009 school year!! We have spent a great deal of time getting to know each other, and practicing our classroom procedures and routines. This will allow us to make the most of our instructional time each day.
The Agendas have arrived, so students are recording homework daily. Please ask to see the Agenda along with the Progress Update Card each night. A reminder that the Update Cards must be initialed each night.
I hope you have had a "tour" of your child's binder!! We assembled and organized the binders and all of our school supplies, notebooks, and folders on Friday!! It was a big job, but worth the effort to keep us organized for the year!! Please look through your child's binder from time to time. All of the assignments and papers have a very specific "home". Thanks to all of you for sending in all of the necessary school supplies, as well as many extras and items from my "wish list". We are well equipped for a great year!!
Please keep a close eye on on my blog, as it is my primary form of communication about our classroom. The Thursday Folder is another way to monitor your child's progress, as well as keep up to date about school activities and events. I will make every effort to keep you well informed about what is going on in our classroom and school. Feel free to email me with any questions.
I look forward to meeting all of you at PTA Open House on Thursday, September 4th at 6:30!! I will be presenting a detailed schedule and information about the instructional program in our classroom, as well as our goals for 5th grade. The kids are working on some interesting things for you to see! Hope you can make it!!!!
