We will study the stars, planets and our place in the galaxy when we return. Stargazing is easy in the winter when we have clear nights. Look for Orion, Venus and Jupiter. Cassiopiea is a W at the top of our night time sky-dome.
The colonies and why we broke away from our mother-country will be the topics for Social Studies when we return.
Please keep reading over the break. This is a great time to knock out an AR book or two. Children who read consistently become not only better readers, but better writers as well. Please encourage complete sentences to be spoken at home. This helps with expressing complete thoughts.
Division is here to stay. That means so is multiplication. We will continue to polish our ciphering skills and we will learn about solid geometry. Please play math games with your children during the holidays. Have them figure out how many cookies the recipe will make, how many people get 3 cookies and etc. Practical applications of math make learning the nuts and bolts in the classroom meaningful.
