Friday , May 16th is field day for Big Shanty. There will be many fun games and challenges. Come join us and help the day to be fantastic for everyone. We are going on our last field trip of third grade. We will be touring the Vulcan Rock Quarry on Monday, May 5th. Please have your child wear comfy shoes and clothing, so they can walk around easily. If you are bringing a lunch from home, make sure it is in a bag that can be thrown away. Wear your blue class shirt and plan to have fun!
Testing starts Wednesday April 23rd with the following schedule of tests:
Wednesday: Reading
Thursday: Language Arts
Friday: Math
Monday: Science
Tuesday: Social Studies
To help your child to be successful, please have them in bed by 8:00, they need to eat a good breakfast and be to school on time. There will not be a spelling test or homework this week. Rest and get focused to do your best!
I hope you all are having a great spring break. My family and I went on a trip to Franklin, North Carolina to mine for rubies. We also hiked through the Tullula Gorge and we even rock climbed and crossed a river. I can't wait to hear about all of your adventures. Don't forget to read and practice your multiplication facts over the break! See you soon. :)

Monday, March 3rd is Read Across America Day. We will have fun events planned to celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss's birthday. The students may bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book to share. Here is the link that I discussed with you at conferences. The password is education and the user name is on the sheet that I gave you. When your child is practicing with the online test, sit with them and discuss the choices. Remind them to read the title and the questions before they start. Let me know if you have any questions.
