Student council is hosting our annual canned food drive! All canned foods collected during this time are given to Big Shanty families in need during the holidays! Please send in as many cans as you can :) The class with the most cans wins a prize. Currently we have 19 while Mrs. Stuart's class has over 80!!!
Spring Field Trip update - Remember that you can make partial payments or full payments at any time! At this time we haven't received much money or responses! If your child is going please send in permission forms ASAP! If we don't start getting permission forms and money in soon we may need to pursue other field trip options. We think that this field trip is an EXCELLENT opportunity at a very reasonable cost. The holidays are coming so it might be a good idea to send in payments before the holiday money crunch hits us!
Red Ribbon Week - Next week is Red Ribbon week here at Big Shanty. The theme for this year is "Do the MATH... Drugs don't add up! This is the run down of what will be happening.
Monday- Students will get Red Ribbons to wear and a pledge to remain drug free. 
Wednesday- Big Shanty "CAN" do without drugs! Bring cans for our can drive!
Thursday- Wear camo day to "Help combat against drugs!"
Friday- Prize drawings for students who turned in their signed pledge tickets
