1.    Important School Policies

¨       Notes are needed for:

*Absences

*Transportation Changes (must be made before 1:40, must be in writing)

*P.E. Excuses

¨       Make-Up Work for Absences

¨      Dress Code

2.    Classroom Policies

¨       Thursday folders go home on Thursday afternoon and should be signed and returned on Friday morning

¨       Spelling, Math, and Reading Homework completed nightly

¨       Read for at least 20 minutes each night

¨       Homework is due in the morning

¨      Agenda is filled out daily.

3.    Academic Alerts

¨          Sent home at midpoint of each grading period

¨          Grades below a “C” are noted with suggestions for improvement

4.    Behavior Management

¨       Cook cash

¨       Name on the board

5. Curriculum

¨       Differentiated Instruction in Math

¨       Science- Rotation to other classrooms

and Writing Workshop, Spelling, Social Studies, Health

¨       STUDENTS MUST PASS CRCT IN

READING

AND MATH IN THE SPRING TO GO ON TO 6TH GRADE (If you have not already done so, please pick up your child's CRCT results from 4th grade in the office.)

6. Important Dates:

¨       Conference Weeks: January 26-30^th.

¨       Early Release Days: Sept. 16^th, Oct. 15^th, Nov. 4^th, Feb. 4^th, March 3^rd.

¨       Testing:   COGAT Sept. 17-19th, ITBS Sept. 22-26, Writing Assessment March 4th,  CRCT April 21- May 1^st

¨      We will go on a field trip later in the year.  Please plan for approximately $75 per student.  Look for details in the Thursday folder as they become available.

7. Questions and Comments

       Please sign up if you are interested in helping sell Chick-fil-A Biscuits on Friday mornings from

                     7:15 to 7:50.  We will start Sept. 12^th.  All profit will be used to help lower the cost of the

                      end of year field trip.
